Do not chew or crush the tablet. This is because the tablet contains coated pellets, which stop the medicine from being broken down by the acid in your stomach. It is important not to damage the pellets.
Alternative method of taking this medicine• Put the tablet in a glass of still (non-fizzy) water. Do not use any other liquids. • Stir until the tablet breaks up (the mixture will not be clear) then drink the mixture straight away or within 30 minutes. Always stir the mixture just before drinking it. • To make sure that you have drunk all of the medicine, rinse the glass very well with half a glass of water and drink it. AsNexiumwas a generic that was approved in the U. S. for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and it was the first of the many Nexium generics available. The drug was approved in 2003, and Nexium was approved in 2008. Nexium is the brand name of an older drug named omeprazole, and it’s the generic name of a brand-name drug called Nexium.
The company was also the manufacturer of Nexium in 2013. Nexium’s generic version is called omeprazole. But the company is not sure about Nexium itself.
“I know it’s going to be generic, but I don’t know that I have to do anything about it,” says John Tauler, a senior vice president at the company that made Nexium. “I’m not sure why Nexium is being marketed so differently than omeprazole, so there’s something about the marketing that’s not right.”
Tauler says he knows there are other brands of the brand-name drug that are less likely to be marketed differently than Nexium. “I’ve seen generic versions of omeprazole and generic versions of Nexium. “I can’t think of a time when it’s the only brand in the U. that’s made an OTC product that has been sold for over 40 years,” Tauler says. “That’s a different story.
